haiku my heart: spherical

sky blue globe, light-veined

stars explode from hidden depths

you cry blood-red tears.

I have no idea of what that sphere is. I can't tell its dimensions. But it is beautiful.

Peace.

I can't figure it out---what is it?
But I can figure out the Haiku and really like it. My high school students struggle with Haiku, but you seem to have a knack for them.

the globe almost looks like water and jellyfish. Very nice haiku.

I have a glass ball collection, and some float in water ponds...this one is beautiful with such a powerful haiku story to go along with it!

I stared at the picture and haiku for a few minutes in some sort of reverie. Both are so beautiful. The inner understanding of the words is clear yet unspeakable.

Beautiful, blue orb. So delicate and lovely. Very mysterious, both image and words.

I also love your blog title and the Sandburg quote.

Lovely pairing of words. This is proof that haiku can dance in places other than its classical neighborhood (nature).

I love the word "orb". Highly underused word. And you used it so well.

Leslie,
This is quite astonishingly beautiful. I am reminded of the unspeakable beauty of the world and also its pain at recent ruptures that have taken place as a result of our unconscionable negligence. The "blood red tears" leads me in that direction. So moving, really. Thank you for sharing. (Hope the pup is well! Minding the pharoah and all that.)

Such powerful and viscerally satisfying imagery. I wish I could teach this to my students!
