It is a beautiful painting of a protected and loved child, insulated from the elements and all that might harm. It is a picture of love. I think the haiku is splendid--"snow-suited, red-booted", lovely!

a mother's love shines through
your words,
her brush strokes,
the promise of the open palm...
waving to you through all time!

thank you leslie...for so much tenderness.

I love this - it reminds me of a storybook illustration. The haiku is lovely and perfect. Stellar.

Yes, there should be a storybook to go with this illustration. Adorable.
I agree with Noelle, "snow-suited, red-booted" is perfect. Those four words conjure up pictures of SO many children.
And of course I love the cat, modestly in the background. Cats are so seldom modest. LOL
Thanks for your comment on my blog, especially the part about our dog. It made me want to check out your dog, too, and I love the laundry picture. Such a sweet face, you couldn't really be upset about the laundry getting scrunched or even dog-haired. ;~)
