Beautiful haiku, Leslie, and a fascinating tree. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen a lot of pine trees. I see they are native to Florida, and I can find out lots of information about its uses, its life expectancy, etc., but nothing about those amazing twining limbs.
It's a little early in the morning (here) for my "learn something new every day" but I guess I just had it. Thanks!

the beauty of life and its simple pleasures... the crisp clean feel of autumn when the sky is still blue...

Lovely needles on that pine reaching towards that gorgeous blue sky!

I can see why a cat would climb a tree ... To chase the light of course. Happy climbing :)

Leslie,
There is a sense of unbridled hope and deep longing in this haiku that is so moving and communicates itself so vividly to the reader. With simple subjects of nature and your love of light and the glory of its maker, you offer the world so much joy.

Thank you my dear for your oh-so-kind comments about Sarah Jane. So meaningful to me!

I never heard of a "slash pine" before. "Twirling limbs" is indeed a good description. Lovely.

Wonderful light in that tree - growing brighter the higher it goes ... like your heart.

Nice work Leslie.

It's such a delight to the senses to stand before the upwards reaching pine, contrasting with the blue sky. It makes you feel invigorated, thank you for reminding.

Beautiful.

I like this. My heart follows light, too.

The softness of the tufts of pine needles against the tangle of tree limbs is a lovely contrast. Yes, let your heart follow them.
