"wing to wing and oar to oar"

Two such as you with a master speed
Cannot be parted nor be swept away
From one another once you are agreed
That life is only life forevermore
Together wing to wing and oar to oar.

Robert Frost, from The Master Speed

My best friend's son is getting married today. The weather has cooperated for their outdoor wedding by an ancient live oak tree in north central Florida. There will be food and music and dancing. Most of all, there will be love. And even though I can't be there in person, I am there in spirit, wishing them a "life forevermore together wing to wing and oar to oar."

What a beautifully simple picture. Wishing every blessing on the happy couple. How lovely to be married under a tree.

I really like this poem by Robert Frost. It's the one I picked to go with our anniversary picture this past August.

I have never heard this Robert Frost quote. I love it. I am glad to have found your blog and I also struggle with a chronic illness. I hope you have a lovely rest of the weekend.

Like Deb, I'm sad you can't be there, too. I hope you're feeling okay. I want to send an email soon to catch you up, my praying friend.

Beautiful prose-sends forth heartwarming blessings for the new couple! I'm not familiar with it though, so will have to look it up when we get to the Rober Frost section of our lit.
The photo is lovely also.

I am recovering from a weekend that took the stuffing right out of me--my brothers and their wives came. They were both on their best behavior, but still it was quite taxing emotionally, mentally, and physically.
Love to you.

Oh, this lovely, Leslie... And best wishes to the happy newly wed couple! So sorry you couldn't be there for the celebrations. Having a chronic challenge to deal with myself, I know how it is, so can sympathize very much. Wishing you well...:o) ((BIG HUGS))
