I've seen lots of low tides, but never containing contraptions like these things. What are they? They certainly aren't flowers!

wha'd'you mean? these are no flowers? i could easily imagine them to be rustic water lilies, e.g. ... ;). no, but seriously? i love the pattern.

but i also always get a little freaked by those great impressive 'things' that are usually not visible. like the underwater parts of big, big freight ships or the invisible parts of wooden walkways into the sea, scare me.
freaky moi, you know....

Kay, I'm not sure, but I think they are bits of old cement pilings that have disintegrated and are now covered in some sort of algae.

Made me shudder a bit ---I'm kind of freaked by that stuff like Woolf is. But it's an intriguing and excellent photo.
