giving thanks... for gifts from the sea

"The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach - waiting for a gift from the sea."

a bird's eye view...

a future sunflower...

a beautiful remnant...

a shell with attitude...

...and a sea grass sculpture.

Hi Leslie,
I have a couple copies of Anne Morrow Lindbergh's book about gifts from the sea...it's timeless, like the sea.

all lovely -- and I liked the quote, too. I remember reading that book -- it's timeless.

How fun to live so close to a big bay of water. I love my trees, but wonder how neat it would be to wake up to the sounds of waves. Smile... xo

Open to the gifts of the sea... I love that. Your collections from the seaside delight the heart, Leslie. I just love being by the sea--it refreshed the spirit and the body. This reminds me I ought to revisit Lindbergh's "Gift from the Sea." Happy Days, my friend ((HUGS))

nothing more relaxing than the sea - the motion of the waves takes the anxiety away, I find (interestingly, my mom feels just the opposite!)

Ahh I love the beach and the quote is lovely! I love the beach for jumping into the waves in summer but I also love it for when I'm feeling down. I just go there and look out onto the horizon, it's so beautiful.
