a sunset right out of charn...

"Low down and near the horizon hung a great, red sun, far bigger than our sun. Digory felt at once that it was also older than ours: a sun near the end of its life, weary of looking down upon that world."

—C.S. Lewis, from "The Magician's Nephew"

Fantastic sun photo.
I must admit I didn't know who, what or where a Charn might be, however, as I am a stuffy old lady who only reads stuffy old lady books. I suspected it just might have something to do with C.S. Lewis, but I did have to look it up.
O well, I love the photo.

Well, that did not come out how I wished it to at all. Please delete it. What I meant to say was I am hoping that the weariness of the sun does not affect your mood. You are too dear and too sweet. Whatever is causing you to feel down, please know that I am thinking of you and holding you in the light, supporting you in thoughts and prayers.
xoxo,
Noelle

There's a melancholy in that quote that stirs my heart.

thanks everyone for your sweet thoughts and prayers... i didn't mean to worry you by this post. i just thought the sun looked "otherworldly," and it reminded me of the quote from that book. I didn't mean to imply that i was feeling like charn's sun...

As a fellow chronic illness club member, I saw something completely different. I saw the beautiful color in that orb telling me that even in the darkness when the waves are choppy, there is light and hope.
And since I felt no jabs looking at this, I figured you simply couldn't pass up the photo opportunity! :)

You've been on my mind all week. I hope you're feeling better. Your mom has been coming to my mind a lot - is everything okay?
