scenes from the hood on a sunday afternoon

a lot of perspiring went into this post... but that's july in florida for you.

since my walk began with a sign reminding me to "stop" and look about me,
i thought i should do just that.

july is also the harbinger of fabulous skies, and pink apple snail eggs...

...and mushroom fairy rings waiting to trap the unwary traveler.

all in all, not a bad exchange for a month-long sauna...

Nice shots. Thank you for taking us on your walk :) happy Sunday !

After I read Debbie's comment, I had to google the pink apple snail eggs, too. LOL
I don't think I'd like summer in Florida. I don't even like summer in southeastern Alberta. I like spring and fall, and have managed to survive summer and winter for lo, this many years, lol.
Glad you were feeling well enough to go out for a walk, and glad you obeyed the sign.

I liked this--cute play on the word 'hood'! :) Your photos are gorgeous, but I think the snail eggs are ickly even if they are pink. Just looking at them, I figured they had to be something a bit gross. You can keep them in Florida, thank you very much!

It looks pretty good from here! The last time I was in Florida in July I think I was about 12... that heat & humidity almost suffocates at time. You are brave to live there in summer! ;o) Happy Week, Leslie ((HUGS))

(i didn't even know snails had eggs?!?!!?)

So much beauty discovered on your walk. Stop signs are to often only thought of as traffic instructions...but they are much more than that when we are paying close attention as you have done my friend. I'm sorry I've not been around to visit much. Between travel and my hands being funky I have some pretty good excuses...but I think of you often and want you to know that!!!!

No, not a bad exchange at all!

Quite a nice exchange, I would say. Here it's really hot. I am already longing for the gentle warmth of spring.

I've never seen snail eggs let alone pink ones, they are so pretty.

O.K. now I'm googling too, pink apple snail eggs hmmm? I like your pink pictures even the snail eggs. ;-)

I watched a show on the cooking channel where they actually were harvesting snail eggs for caviar. I'm not sure if I could eat snail eggs are not, probably not.

It's draining to walk in the heat and humidity, but I still can't resist either.
