moorhen love...

these little guys have a face only a mother could love.

or perhaps this is dad? (moorhens are enlightened parents.)

"He will cover you with His feathers,
and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."
Psalm 91:4

Oh, the little bald guys are adorable, Leslie. And the quotation from the psalmist is perfect.

They may be kind of an ugly little thing, but they grow up into something beautiful.

You've introduced me to something new.

Blessings as you dwell under His wings.

I second Susan. And I agree that parental love is the key here---my those little faces are different!
Wonderful apt scripture.

Neat! Ive read about Moor Hens but never saw one till now. I love the scarlet color of their beaks. God declares Himself in every bit of nature, doesn't He?

I love these little birds... the way their little heads bob back and forth when they swim... and the little trails they leave when they swim through surface weeds... They are just happy little birds in happy little ponds!

Ah yes, I remember these 'beauties' from one of our trips down south (although they were called something else too I thought). And I had the same thought about their facial features ;-)

Wonderful, comforting text.
