rust-ic beauty

I found this bead and wire ornament last christmas at a local craft gallery, and decided to hang it in the garden. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but the summer rains took their toll and it is now a rusty version of its former self. I think I like it better this way...

Our admiration of the antique is not admiration of the old, but of the natural.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I don't know what it looked like last year, but it is beautiful now. You could convince me the beads are real pearls.
I love the quotation. Wise man, was Emerson.

I like it too! :>) Some things are just better when you let nature give it a go.
Creative idea to hang it outside.

I like it, too. And that Emerson quote is perfect.

Count me in on the rust love too... I'm glad you took this outside and let Mother Nature play with it. The rusty patina looks beautiful with the glass pearls...lovely...*swoon*... Happy Weekend, Leslie ((HUGS))

It is a magical looking thing, in any season. Nice photo of it too!

Ah, you see - now it has character, because it has persevered through the trials brought by the weather !

Just spent some time going through your posts that I've missed, Leslie, while listening to Waters of Babylon (so nice to be able to do that via a fast internet connection !). Some very poignant posts. I hope you're doing well.

I would have done the same thing and put this beauty in the garden. I like the vintage look. It is vintage meets a bit of glam. :) xo
