on christmas favors...

I didn't take many photos on Christmas day...

...but I can say that I felt a bit less like a reflection of my former self.

and there were presents (always a plus)

even the dog got her share.

( I did make it, later in the day, to my mother's house for the crazy chaos that is my family's Christmas celebration. There was catching up with old friends, and congratulations on my nephew's engagement, plus remote control tanks and helicopters, and thanks to my funny and generous brother, the gift of a camera for my daughter, the receiving of which involved an elaborate re-enactment of an old German spy movie, complete with script and costumes. Glad I didn't miss that ;)

I'm exhausted, but grateful.

Exhausted but grateful is the perfect phrase to describe Christmas day!

I hope you get some rest this week --

Oh, Leslie, I'm so glad you were able to go. You'd have missed so much!
I haven't been out of the house since Thursday, and I'm enjoying the peace and quiet. Right now I'm the only one not napping. Lindy is snoring beside me and my big, strong, healthy husband is also asleep. He woke up early but still insisted on going out later to look for bargains in the Boxing Day sales Canadians (other than me) seem to love.
Take good care of yourself now, and give Lady a hug from me.
Love, K

I felt the same way after the kids and grandkids left Christmas eve:exhausted and grateful! My spaghetti and Stouffer's lasagna were hits and dinner was easy to get on the table and off. It was crazy, wonderful chaos! I had 3 hours sleep so I was operating on prayer, but I made it through and then took a 2 hr. nap after they left--woke up feeling happy.
I'm so glad you were able to go to your mother's les, and I'd love to have seen that movie skit. I bet Emily had a blast and was absolutely thrilled! Terrific of your brother!
Praying as always--I feel yours.

I just love your reflection in that ornament. It's like Another Earth. Only this would be a mini shiny earth.

And that photo of Lady is so expressive. You always capture her emotions so well :)

The best present is you and the picture of Lady. I love it! So glad you had a good Christmas with family, even though it took its toll I am sure.
