sew sew.

I had some hemming to do, so I pulled the old machine from the closet.

After dusting a few months/years from its faux-tweed case,

I decided it needed a photo-shoot, to make up for my previous neglect.

It was thrilled.

A sewing machine always works better when it's appreciated...

We must be on the same wavelength. I pulled out my sewing machine last night. It's not as cool as yours, though. I'm attempting curtains. Oh, and I so wish for your company on a backroads trip. I promise not to make you sit near my bees. Love you.

It appears to be pink, possibly to match your kitchen?!

I think it's great you know how to use one. I finally gave my mom's to my neighbor who cherishes it and USES it. Even machines like to be needed.
I love the sun dresses---quite fetching!:>)

"A sewing machine always works better when it's appreciated..." Oh, yes, I couldn't agree more! I know my own machine operates and behaves much more nicely when I use her more (yes, it's a she, and she has a name--Lucy! LOL...) But then most things are better when appreciated more. LOVELY summer dress you have there too, Leslie. :o) Happy Summer Days ((HUGS))

Ah, don't we all.

And in the words of Mark Twain - "I can live for 2 months on a good compliment."

Wonderful post.

What darling dresses! Your sewing machine seems to have lived a long and productive life due to your appreciation. I'm sure it enjoyed its photo shoot.
I love Rick's quote from Mark Twain. I think good old Samuel L. said some of the best stuff, don't you?

Very cool machine! Appreciation, I thought I always appreciated my sewing machine but maybe not enough. I always think sewing would be much faster if my machine would cooperate! Love the photos and I got a laugh out of the story you shared about hemming the dresses.

I love these glimpses into your life :)
Reminds me of my mother's old Singer machine, and the many hours she spent making almost all my clothes *sigh*
I'm about to dig out my machine to run up some bunting - I'll post the pictures when I'm done X

what a beauty! my mother in law has a similar sewing machine, it's gorgeous, works perfectly, but weighs a TON (and she stores it in her basement!). the dresses are lovely, I think you must have been as thrilled as your sewing machine! :)
