how the day sounds

cicadas thrum.
clock ticks.
doves coo.
keys click.
fridge hums.
chimes ring.
mower whines.
i sing.

through many dangers, toils, and snares,
we have already come,
t'was grace that brought us safe thus far,
and grace will lead us home.

Been wondering about you. Traffic noise from the busy street and the click of the ice cubes in my herbal tea is all I'm hearing hear.

I sometimes will break some lines from Amazing Grace too. But one that always makes me giggle some is when I spontaneously start singing "I Love to Tell the Story," For some reason that song's chorus has stuck with me over the years. :>)

"great is Thy faithfulness" ...

no cicadas, but coyotes sometimes howl, the sand cranes squawk, and tractors roar ....

think of you so often ... and pray

how about the olympics....have they been in the background as a bit of white noise like they have been here :)

Ah, the sounds of summer... Been relishing those too! LOVELY image today, Leslie... And "grace will lead us home"...I've always loved that line and found comfort in it. :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))

One of my favorite hymns, with my favorite verse being the one describing eternity:

"When we've been there 10,000 years ..."

Around here it's the sounds of silence that prevail - music to our ears.

Hope and pray that things are looking up for you and Dwight.

You're singing one of my favourite hymns :) The cicadas are in full force here too.

Amen, regardless of all around us or before us, Grace will lead us home.
