SO true, I just got home from a 4 day canoe trip, actually two days on the canoe and two to get there, and the silence was wonderful.

This is great, Les. I've never seen a baby mockingbird up close, which is surprising because mockingbirds routinely nest on our property. The parents are very protective. They dive-bomb our cats in the yard. You can hear the commotion from inside the house.

So true. I was brought up to appreciate the peace silence can bring and there are times when I crave it(esp. after a particularly noisy and chaotic school day). Lovely little bird and I really like how you fussed (made-up word) out the background so that just a bit of scenery was visible to highlight him or her. Great shot and a wonderful match up to the quote. :>)
